“ I being in the way, the LORD led me…”
Genesis 24:27
Almost two years ago God began dealing with my heart about taking this
ministry into a non-profit status. I argued back and forth with Him concerning
the reason why. Finally He said, “You will know when it's time, just do what I
have told you to do.”
Fast forward to last year: I met with five friends acting as board
members/counselors via Zoom in our very first “official” meeting. Following
wise counsel from friends in ministry we decided to search for two more
board members, to bring the total to seven. We continued to push through the
legal processes to become a recognized non profit.
On January 17th of this year we were officially recognized by the State of
Texas as a non-profit, and we are nearing the completion of submitting all the
paperwork necessary to become recognized as tax exempt federally by the IRS.
We have also voted into place the bylaws of our ministry, and we also have
nominated and accepted our very first president, vice-president, and
secretary.
As the final straw regarding personnel, God reconnected me with two friends
from my past, one in California and one in Tennessee, and we have brought
them onto the board, with one fulfilling our need for treasurer. Please check
our website and see everyone and read their bio’s - these are some amazing
people of God with an array of talents and gifts to use for the King!
Bible study begins again In August! (August 3rd)
Last week we signed a contract with a local restaurant to meet on their
campus for our weekly Sunday night Bible study. We have moved the time to 5
PM, and we will continue to offer Zoom as well. Visit the website under the tab
“Bible Study” for all the information.
“What’s the best way to witness at work?”
“and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a
reason of the hope that is in you…”
1 Peter 3:15
Recently, as I was sitting in the breakroom at work, a coworker began to talk to
me about matters of faith. Surprised and intrigued, I left where I was sitting
and went and sat across from her at the table where she was. For a few
minutes we discussed our life as Christians, and then she asked, “What is the
best way to witness in the workplace?” I was able to share with her some things
I have learned along the way to let your light shine, while not neglecting your
job duties. I was so encouraged, as I never knew this particular young lady,
who works in another part of the store, was a follower of Christ. How
wonderful to have another believer in the workplace.
We encourage each of you to keep walking the walk and talking the talk, being
salt and light as Jesus commanded!
Shalom,
Ross & Kristy Heinricy
